First Day of School – August 31

Dear Frontier Parents/Guardians:

As you know, Frontier released its re-opening plan on July 21. We are offering parents a choice that works best for their family. Parents can choose in‐person attendance or virtual learning. Based on the family preference, students will receive full in‐person or virtual instruction for all five days of the week. You can reach our full plan from website.

Since the release of our re-opening plan on July 21, COVID-19 remains a great concern in the Kansas City area. Because of this, and in response to the increasing number of cases in the metro area, our re-opening committee has decided to move the start date for all students to August 31. Frontier will provide virtual instruction to all students between August 31 and September 18.

During this time period, we will continue to monitor the conditions and guidance from the CDC and local health departments.  Based on their guidance and feedback, we may start providing in-person instruction to the students who chose this option beginning on September 21. Once students can return to campus, they will find a variety of improved safety protocols designed to keep our Frontier family and our classrooms both organized and academically-focused.

Regardless of where our students are learning, they will benefit from a newly designed, district-built curriculum and Edgenuity. Both curriculums are designed to connect them with both their teachers and peers in an enriched and engaging interactive format. Furthermore, our curriculum directors and teachers are using several online tools to build interactive lesson cycles. Look for another letter to come out soon regarding our updated academic curriculum.

We promise to continue to keep you updated as additional information becomes available. Please contact your school’s front office if you have any questions.
