Recently, our esteemed Frontier School of Excellence Social Studies teacher, Cameron May, had the honor of visiting the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library & Museum to extend a warm welcome to First Lady Jill Biden. Dr. Biden, a dedicated lifelong educator, chose the Truman Library as a platform to connect with some of her cherished constituents—students and teachers—while delving into the Library's civics education initiatives.
Against the backdrop of an Oval Office replica, Ms. May guided the first lady to the iconic "Buck Stops Here" sign, elucidating that her students initially harbored skepticism about the Truman Library. However, Ms. May revealed, "But then they find out that President Truman was an everyday guy" who remains remarkably relevant and relatable.
A special shout-out to Ms. May for her invaluable contribution to this remarkable encounter, exemplifying the dedication and passion that our educators bring to enriching the learning experiences of our students!
