Get the Lead Out
Frontier Schools is committed to ensuring the safety of drinking water across all campuses. In line with the newly passed "Get the Lead Out of School Drinking Water Act" by the Missouri state legislature, we conducted comprehensive water testing in December 2023. A certified environmental consulting firm tested all water sources used for drinking and food preparation to ensure they met the stringent new state lead limit of 5 parts per billion (ppb). The primary goal of these efforts is to protect the health and well-being of our students and staff.

Upon receiving the test results, Frontier Schools promptly took action to address any sources that exceeded the 5 ppb lead threshold. Immediate remediation was carried out, which may involve replacing equipment or installing certified lead-reducing filters on affected water sources. In addition, clear signage was posted on non-drinking water sources to prevent their use until corrective measures were completed. The district’s proactive approach ensures that all necessary improvements are made swiftly, prioritizing the safety of our community.

To maintain transparency and compliance with the law, Frontier Schools will retest all remediated water sources to confirm that lead levels have been reduced below the acceptable limit. We are fully dedicated to the ongoing monitoring of water quality and will continue to share updates with our community, including the outcomes of future tests and any additional steps we take to ensure the safety of our water. Keeping students, staff, and families informed is a critical part of our commitment to health and safety.
