Mr. Ugur Demircan has been serving as Superintendent of Frontier Schools since August 2014. Before his current position at Frontier Schools, Mr. Demircan served as Area Superintendent at Harmony Public Schools in San Antonio/Laredo/Brownsville Texas. He provided support and guidance to school administrators, supervised curriculum and instructional programs, developed district improvement plan, monitored instructional and managerial processes. He also served as Principal, Assistant Principal and teacher positions in several schools. He has been in education for a total of twenty-three years. During his principalship, his school received Ten Miracle High Schools &Top 25 Transformative High Schools recognition by Newsweek and listed in the Nation's Top 200 High Schools by Washington Post. Mr. Demircan also received Jesse A. Dorrington Teacher of the Year award in 2003 at Houston Science and Engineering Fair.
Mr. Demircan has a Bachelor’s degree from Marmara University in Computer Education and a Master’s degree from University of Texas Tyler in Educational Leadership. He is a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society.
Mr. Demircan has been happily married for more than 15 years and his wife is a Foreign Language teacher. He is a proud parent of Frontier School System as his two daughters attend Frontier School of Innovation Elementary and Middle schools.
