<p data-start="126" data-end="309"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:18px">From March 25–29, FSHS students embarked on an exciting and enriching Ivy League field trip, gaining a firsthand look at college campuses and a deeper understanding of college life.</span></p> <p data-start="311" data-end="667"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:18px">The trip offered students the chance to explore prestigious universities while also enjoying guided tours of Boston and New York City, making the experience both educational and memorable. Throughout the journey, students asked thoughtful questions, engaged actively with their surroundings, and expanded their knowledge of future academic opportunities.</span></p> <p data-start="669" data-end="879"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:18px">This field trip provided a meaningful step in helping students envision their college journeys and broaden their horizons, inspiring them to consider the many possibilities that lie ahead in higher education.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:18px">This past Saturday, March 28, five of our high school band students from Frontier School of Excellence competed at the MSHSAA District 15 Solo &amp; Ensemble Festival at Grain Valley High School. Each student performed a solo piece for their instrument, and all five delivered impressive performances.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:18px">Karen C. earned a "1" (Exemplary) rating for her stunning performance of </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:18px"><em>Fantasy Pieces</em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:18px"> on clarinet. An Exemplary rating is the highest score a competitor can achieve at this festival, and as a result, Karen will advance to the state-level competition at the University of Missouri on May 2.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:18px">Renargo M. and Taurean F. received a "2" (Superior) rating on their respective trumpet solos, earning celebratory medals for their excellent performances. Both the Excellence Award and Teamwork Champion Award qualify the team for the </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:16px"><strong data-start="853" data-end="882">VEX IQ World Championship</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:16px">, making this achievement even more special.</span></p> <p data-start="928" data-end="1114"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:16px">Another one of our elementary teams, </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:16px"><strong data-start="965" data-end="983">Duckies (243F)</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:16px">, also had a strong showing and was recognized with the </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:16px"><strong data-start="1039" data-end="1055">Design Award</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:16px"> for their thoughtful engineering process and robot design.</span></p> <p data-start="1116" data-end="1483"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:16px">It was an exciting day of competition for all of our teams. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:16px"><strong data-start="1176" data-end="1197">Mechaminds (243K)</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:16px"> advanced all the way to the finals, demonstrating excellent strategy and teamwork, while </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:16px"><strong data-start="1287" data-end="1306">Starteam (243G)</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;font-size:16px"> improved their driving score and showed great progress during the event.
